Categories: In the News

Two schools in the San Marcos, TX school district placed in the Top 10 among schools nationwide, in terms of number of pic2pages read. Crockett Elementary School came in No. 2, while De Zavala Elementary School was No. 3. Several students also earned individual awards for most pages read. The students were honored Wednesday at award assemblies. A Learning Ally representative presented the students at both schools with three Chromebooks, three headphones and a $100 gift certificate for a party. The contest was made up entirely of students who struggle with reading. Using computers, tablets, smartphones and other hand-held devices, the students accessed Learning Ally’s collection of 82,000 human-narrated audiobook titles including textbooks, literature and popular fiction/nonfiction.
