Blind Ph.D. Student Has a Message for Learning Ally Volunteers

Categories: Blind or Visually Impaired, Volunteerism

National Achievement Award Winner, Henry "Hoby" Wedler, is currently a Ph.D. candidate at UC Davis studying chemistry. He is a longtime user of Learning Ally audiobooks and credits the volunteers who record and edit his textbooks as being critical to his success. Their dedication toward ensuring that he has the materials he needs is invaluable and allows him to succeed in advanced degree subjects. Hoby's gratitude to Learning Ally has inspired him to give back to others. He is currently one of our leading College Success Program for the Blind and Visually Impaired mentors, giving guidance and advice to blind or visually impaired students who are currently attending college. He also hosts our Tasting in the Dark blind wine tasting awareness events, which allow participants to engage all of their senses while tasting and learning about wine. Watch his heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers.
