Local students celebrate Read Across America Day with 'Serafina' author

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Today was Read Across America Day, and some special kids in Asheville rang it in with a bestselling author.pic2 "Serafina" author Robert Beatty held a webinar for students with learning disabilities. The event at Valley Springs Middle School Wednesday afternoon was aimed at kids with learning disabilities. It was put on by the non-profit group Learning Ally, which has been working to put a specialized program in the hands of kids struggling with things like dyslexia or vision problems. Robert Beatty is a New York Times best-selling author. He wrote the acclaimed kids' book "Serafina and the Black Cloak." Watch the video on WLOS here.
