At Learning Ally, interns do more than fill coffee or make copies. In fact, we have some of the most creative interns in the world since many of them have dyslexia. They are big picture thinkers, and we like to set all of those ideas loose to see what happens.

Last summer, high school student Will Marsh interned at our Princeton headquarters under Deborah Lynam. One bright morning, he came in gushing about “The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia," the HBO documentary by Jamie Redford that we had been promoting. Inspired, he wanted to have a showing of the film with a discussion afterwards to be held at his high school. Will and Deborah As sparks tend to do among those of like minds (and especially those of creative minds), this one quickly became ablaze! Why stop at a movie screening? Let's do more. We can do more, together! Marsh formed partnerships with Learning Ally, Decoding Dyslexia-NJ, and the Scotch Plains Campus for the Children’s Dyslexia Centers. The fire grew into planning a half-day conference that would help families gain much needed information about dyslexia, all at one location. He called it a Spotlight on Dyslexia. The Learning Disabilities Foundation of America gave Marsh a grant to cover the cost, and in October of 2013 over 240 people benefited from this high school student's big idea! Today his spark of an idea, which became a fire, is now turning into an inferno! We want you to fan the flames with us! T-ShirtsOn December 5th, 2014, Learning Ally and Marsh have teamed up once again to bring back Spotlight on Dyslexia. This time, we're going for something different.
