We Need Yes! Student Ambassadors in Massachusetts

Categories: Activities, Disability Type, Learning Disabilities

Have you heard about our YES! Program? It's for students with learning differences who would like to learn how to recognize their strengths and weaknesses. This helps students build confidence and provides them with the tools to become strong self-advocates.

We began in Colorado, and are slowly spreading to cities nation-wide! Our next stop:

Massachusetts

We want to start the program in August 2015, so we are currently seeking applications from students who are in the 6th - 11th grade Yes! Teen Dyslexia Ambassadorswho would like to act as program leaders in this new hub. We call them our YES! Ambassadors. We are looking for students who advocate for themselves and are interested in helping others gain those skills. As a YES! Student Ambassador, you will:
  • Be a leader in the YES! Program and act as a role model for other students
  • Speak publicly about your learning disability to educate teachers, parents and students
  • Host local dyslexia-related events
  • Empower and inspire others by sharing your personal story
This is your chance to make a difference!  Get involved today!  Due to the recent weather events in Massachusetts, Learning Ally’s YES! Program has extended the deadline for Ambassador applications to February 28th. Contact YES@learningally.org to request an application. Click the following flyer for more details: pic
