Volunteers

Join the Learning Ally Volunteer Nation

We rely on a network of over 1,000 volunteers to bring our mission to life! Volunteer Nation is working to solve the literacy problem - the 65% of students who are not proficient in reading by 4th grade. Our volunteers share their talents to create human-read audiobooks and provide support in roles that help us reach the 30 million students who struggle to read. By volunteering, you can help remove the barriers that stand in the way of our students’ right to education.

Our volunteer opportunities are mostly virtual and can be done from the comfort of your home. Check out the various volunteer roles below!

If you are an experienced audiobook narrator with a passion for literacy, we need you! We have a particular need for narrators who can give voice to the diverse characters and stories in juvenile fiction.

If you want to learn more about getting involved in the coming months, please reach out to Maria Lelie at volunteer@LearningAlly.org and complete the above volunteer interest form.

Virtual Corporate Events

Learning Ally's virtual volunteer events build ERGs and employees’ involvement in supporting the creation of education solutions that bring equity to education for all. Your employees will engage in a transformative literacy simulation followed by a meaningful volunteer activity. Our virtual events help connect teams across the world, build a deep connection to the communities we serve, and grow awareness around the importance of literacy..
